Magic Secret Lair

Die Sondereditionen, Neuauflagen alter Karten und Sammlerstücke aus dem geheimen Unterschlupf. Diese Sets sind zum Release nur über den Magic Shop zu bekommen, was meist ein teurer US-Import ist. Auch die Sets selbst sind nicht preiswert und damit schon etwas außerhalb der regulären Spielkarten-Welt. Da sind Sammer gefragt. Die Karten sind meist auch zu schön oder zu teuer, um damit zu spielen, meiner Meinung nach.

• Wie erfährt man von den Secret Lair Drops? Per Magic Newsletter und die Webseiten. 
• Sind die Angebote zeitlich begrenzt? Ja, die Angebote der Drops sind zeitlich begrenzt. 
• Sind die Sets Importe? Im Normalfall sind es Importe aus den USA, daher kommt Zoll hinzu und die Kosten für den Versand sind auch höher. Sollte der Zoll auf die Idee kommen, die Pakete zu öffnen, hat man dazu kaputte Packungen und Wertverlust.

Magic rats in the secret lair drop on luna new year 2020. Foil Alternate-Art cards and a nice carton box. 

A white box with the black box in it. The black box comes with gold inscription. The cards are then in the black box. Yes, the packaging is much larger than necessary because there are only a few cards in it, but you can still use it as deck box afterwards. The box is not quite as stable as the actual deck boxes, but ok and the materail feels good. It would be like a deck box for the shelf.

What is inside the secret lair? 8 Foil Alternate-Art cards and 1 special - here it was Teyo, the Shieldmage Legendary Planeswalker ... and a nice carton box. So is this fine? ... The price and the card amount wont match up and there is no dice in it as well. So i like the cards and the design, but it was far overpriced. We are not talking about the price here.

• 1 special - here it was Teyo, the Shieldmage Legendary Planeswalker
• 1 code for a card sleeve based on the Secret Lair drop Year of the Rat for use in Magic: The Gathering Arena

The cards are really good and well known, since the rats were already known as far as I know and they are among the very popular ones from Magic. Stopping rats' decks is sometimes quite complicated, so you should discuss with friends beforehand or set it to fix editions, cards, or skills in the decks.

Conclusion:

I like the cards and the design. The planeswalker ist fine, but i normaly dont like to play with planeswalker :) So the set is nice but still far overpriced and shipping is the overkill to it :D There are many more rat cards that are popular and they could have added them here. The quality of the cards, i.e. the look, the material and the capabilities are perfect as always. If you are interested in the cards, you can look at the regular variations of them, since these are more collectibles. An increase in value is rather unlikely because the shipping costs and the actual costs are already high but of course there are collectors and a limited availability, which could increase the value after some time, if the rats are popular. However, the rats were much more represented in old editions.
